| - So the first of the twelve steps is admitting you have a problem right? Well, I have a bit of addiction to Nu Bügel's bagels. I also have a thing for umlauts.
So their bagels are Montreal style and good ones. They're boiled first and then baked in a real wood-burning oven...pretty cool. When you can get them freshly out of the oven, they area AMAZING. They're pretty good after the cool down, but the fresh ones are out of this world. I particularly love the everything bagel, which is garlicky and salty. 5 stars for the bagels.
I wonder what's up with all the comments on the service. They can be a bit disorganized, but the staff have all been friendly. They're Quebecois, so they might be a bit different than your average Ontarians, but I've found them to be warm and pleasant to me.
The bagels are good value at $1/bagel of $5/half dozen; but, their toppings are on the pricey side. Cream cheese or jam will really start to set you back. Their bagel sandwiches are good, but also slightly pricey...a couple mistakes too like not toasting the bagel or forgetting a component. Maybe they're still working some kinks out.
This is one addiction though, I don't plan to kick. Now if they could just text me when the everything bagels are coming hot out of the oven, I'd be happy ;)
