I had made a 5:15 PM reservation and they asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, which I said was a birthday. When seated the dining room was totally empty. There are dreary murals on opposing walls which look like Tuscany after a nuclear attack! Our waiter was adequate but not overly attentive. A small amount of bread and "white butter" (ricotta) was served and was tastless and lack luster. We ordered the short rib (dinner special $28) and the veal parm $32. The rib included a sweet potato fennel which looked like a smear on the plate. The rib was bland and tastless. We had to ask for salt and pepper as none is on the tables, to at least make it somewhat palatable! The veal was room temperature and the breading was soggy. The small amount of pasta in the center was the only thing hot, and was tough and gummy. The $72check without alcohol (which they heavily push) was ludicrous! A heartier and more consistent meal would have been had at the Olive Garden which I detest!
Oh, and by the way....The birthday was NEVER mentioned! We wanted to pay the check and get out of there! NEVER TO RETURN!!!
