Went in to look at a used car. I got Jim a new salesman who is a very nice guy. I told him I was not planning to buy today but wanted to see what they had in stock for what I was willing to pay. I also told him my X was a car salesman and I know how things work and I didn't want to hassle over price.
I was shown 3 cars so I picked the one I liked the best and drove it. Well sure enough I was handed off to the so-called sales manager who showed me the price I could buy the car for which was $8,500 higher than my stated price I wanted to pay. So I said thanks but I was leaving. He then said how about if I can do it for $2,500 above the price I had stated I said I would talk to my husband and let them know. He really didn't want me to leave but I did. He said he could hold the deal for me till 6:00 pm.
I talked to my husband and decided to take the deal. When I went back I told them to writ up the deal. A few minutes later the sales manager came back and said they had done the work up on the wrong car (lies) and the lowest price they could do was the original price they had told me. Them another guy came to the table who was very condescending to me. Saying if I only wanted to spend a certain amount I shouldn't have looked at a car priced higher than I wanted to spend. Let me remind you I ask to see cars in my price range and did not know what the sticker price was. And by the way you never pay the sticker price there is always room to negotiate. The big stickler was I was paying cash so they couldn't get their financing fee or kick back from the finance company.
Bottom Line they were wasting my time.
The next day I went to another dealership and got a car a year newer with only 10,000 more miles in the color I really wanted and with no hassles.
I will never go back to Midway Chevrolet or any of their other stores.
I recommend you go some place else to spend your money.
