This bakery is a hidden gem located on the main drag in Sharpsburg. They serve breakfast and lunch, sell bakery items, frozen meals and deli meats. Upon entering the establishment I could see that it was clean and well maintained. Cozy booths and tables filled both sides of an expansive dining area. The interior has sort of a pizza shop feel. The guy behind the counter was the nephew of the owner (Brother Tom?) and he informed us that his Uncle was Polish. He also said that he has always loves eating his Uncles food because he "doesn't mess around". Lol The bakery had many items: cookies, pastries, rolls, breads, etc. All of which looked appealing. We bought some golden wheat bread which is apparently made from Tom's own recipe. My boyfriend had a stomach ache that day so he ended up making the bread into toast to feel better. He said that it tasted fresh and was very good. We also bought a nut roll which was excellent. My boyfriend bought two of Brother Tom's premade meals and they are in our freezer (pasta and kielbasa entrees) so we will see how those turn out. I'm confident that they will be very good. The guy behind the counter said that his Uncle often rotates the menu. We asked about stuffed cabbage and he said that he does make this but it sells quickly (boyfriend loves this dish so he was excited). They also had the traditional haluski on standby as a frozen entree. My only wish is that this darling business had healthier menu options. I am always trying to seek low fat, low carb options and there were very few items here that fit this description. However. If you want real Polish food, yummy baked goods, great service, and a clean/cozy dining/bakery/shopping experience - this is the place to go!
