  • It's difficult to award this place 3 stars when a majority of the various items I had were less than sub-par. If you're lazy like me you'll have to settle for The Roasted Bean if you don't want to make the trek across the hotel to Starbucks. The only reason why this place gets 3 stars is because their baked sweets were excellent. This place almost always has a long line in the mornings. Don't let that turn you away. The line moves pretty fast. It's the only quick casual dining joint (check out Carnegie Deli if you have time). As you go down the line, you'll pass all their menu items displayed in the refrigerated glass display. They have some gigantor baked goods. The blueberry muffin is definitely massive. I was able to snack on it throughout an entire day. Their red velvet cupcake was amazing. The sweet sour cream icing was so soft. I was pleasantly surprised because I'm use to it being hard. The cake itself was very soft and moist. They can definitely make a mean ol' cupcake! Their iced cappuccino was insanely strong. I literally got that wide awake morning feeling every time I took a sip. It was like taking three shots of espresso per sip! Needless to say, I got my money's worth. It single-handedly woke up a handful of people. Now onto the reason why it made it so hard for me to give them 3 stars. I decided to get their pasta salad along with freshly squeezed orange juice. I understand pasta salads are supposed to be cold but this bowl of pasta was ICE cold. My fork was literally chipping at a block of pasta ice at the bottom. When I went to the pick-up side and asked the lady if she could warm up my pasta she looked at me like I was insane. I explained that the bottom was practically a block of ice. My fork couldn't even break it apart! She hesitantly took my bowl and looked at me like I was a freak. DON'T get their pasta salads. DON'T get their wraps. DO get their baked stuff.
