| - Review long over due: Had Easter brunch here and was highly disappointed. To start, service was lacking. Our French server didn't even bother to greet us. He merely asked what we wanted to eat. There was no talk of cocktails or specials for the day. We ordered appetizers for the party to share which never arrived. The server later admitted he forgot. As compensation, he offered a plate of Madeleine's. Throughout brunch he rarely came to check on our table of seven people. Nor did the manager who was too busy talking at the hostess stand. There were only five tables in the restaurant, and he never touched one.
As far as the food goes, we were underwhelmed. We ordered the Duck Hash, their specialty burger, and the Croque Madame. All of which were lacking in originality and flavor. For instance, the Croque Madame is such a simple classic dish, yet they managed to ruin it with overly think slices of ham, very little bechamel, an overdone egg, and bread you can barely slice into.
We had been looking forward to this visit for a long time, but we were greatly disappointed by the entirety of the experience. It put a damper on our holiday. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to DB Brasserie anytime soon, nor would we recommend it to anyone else.
