  • I've used other HVAC companies in the past through my home warranty to fix our broken AC. The compressors go out every couple of years. Well I switched home warranty company's and my AC's compressor went out last week. All I've ever paid to have any AC compressor replaced is the deductible for the home warranty. Now with my new home warranty they use A&R as their preferred vendor and A&R has some BS fees that add up to $470 plus the deductible of $125. The home warranty assures me that these "new" fees are A&R's fees and the warranty company has nothing to do with them. Bottom line : it's going to cost $595 what was $75 before. I can only assume that A&R is a shady company with fees like disposal fee, $150; reclamation fee, $180; some refrigerant fee of $140. I call BS on A&R. I would not recommend them to my friends and family. It's also taken them 7 full days to get the compressor installed and it's the middle of August in Las Vegas, well above 100 degrees. Buyer beware.
