This was the WORST experience we have EVER EVER had in purchasing a car! We own a business and I have personally have bought each and every car for our company (over 30 cars) and I have NEVER had such a horrid experience as we have had at San Tan Ford.
We needed a little cheap car for our new sales guy, we went in and told them look this is what we need a steering wheel, AC and a seat basically. They said they had a Fiesta coming in that fit the bill. We waited over a week and it never came. We specially went out of our way on 3 occasions to tell them DO NOT put ANYTHING extra or any dealer add-ons to the car we don't need them.
The car finally came in and we went in to sign the papers, we had agreed to pay sticker price (only about $300 between invoice n sticker). We had cash to buy the car outright no financing. The process of doing the paperwork should only take 20min at best I have done this a tone before. We went in to sign and now the car was $1000 more expensive, why? Well they added on things to the car like we told them not to. We told them to forget about it and we would walk away.
After a lot of "let me talk to my manager" crap (hate this) they agreed to sell us the car at the stickers price with no extra cost for the extras we TOLD THEM NOT TO DO. You would think we just needed to sign then right? Nope the sales manager comes out and then tell us he doesn't want to sell us the car because he thinks we won't give him a 5 star rating on that stupid survey they send you in the mail. You have got to be kidding me!!!!!! At this point we really should have walked away and called it a dead deal but we needed a car for our new sales guy and we had already waited over a week for this car.
So once we convinced him to sell us the car (our mistake) we get to sign papers for it. As my husband is walking out of the dealership he realizes they didn't credit the sale with the $500 deposit we gave them via credit card. So my husband already upset at this whole thing goes back in and he was upset don't get me wrong but he in a stern attitude goes back in and tells them he needs his $500 back from the deposit.
At this point another sales manager a big fat guy comes over and starts to herd my husband with his big fat body out of the showroom and tells my husband to leave and get off the property and out of the showroom. My husband said he almost took a swing at the guy but he didn't. They started telling him all these things and refusing to give him back the deposit money.
Another manager from the back came out and broke it up and apologized and said he would talk with the GM in the morning and how it was TOTALLY in appropriate the way the manager acted. We tore up the deal got our check back, got the credit back on the card and gave them the keys back.
Next morning my husband gets a call from the GM's assistant who my husband thought would offer an apology and such but no, no. This woman goes on to tell my husband that they have reviewed the situation and said that the sales manager was in the right for acting like that and in fact they shouldn't have sold us that car at that price it was too cheap!
WTF!!!!! Are you kidding me!!!!! WE paid full sticker $15,090 for the car plus all their "fees" and we got the dealer add ons for Free ONLY because we ordered the car WITH OUT all that crap, who wants a tricked out Ford Fiesta for a work car?
Honestly we are still in amazement over this whole thing. 30 + cars later and 14 years with our company and we have NEVER EVER had an experience like this. DO NOT GO TO SAN TAN FORD!!!!!
We ended up buying a Nissan from Power Nissan of Chandler the next day and it only took 25 minutes total in and out and they delivered the car to our office too! We will never ever consider a Ford again.
