| - I had a great time! Thank you Yelp! Firstly, this place is far. I was really looking forward to this event and was super bummed when it was rained out on the initial date. I'm all the way out in Queen Creek and I think it was definitely worth the drive. We arrived pretty much when they opened and at the end of the ticket booth they had a special cashier for Yelp. We received the fast pass bracelet which included the haunted hayride, a free drink, and a token to have our picture taken at the end. We were able to pick any drink for the beverage stand (I was expecting a fountain drink and it was actual bottles so I was surprised). We didn't eat anything and I whole-heartedly regret not getting an order of curly fries but I'll make up for it at the state fair. Anyway, I digress. Of course, I wore shorts and after sitting in the hay on the hayride, I was super itchy and we went home, forgetting to take our picture. Seeing everyone's picture is making me jealous, lol.
We started with the Mouth of Madness (if you watch my videos, that's where I was screaming) which was the scariest to me because it was first. While waiting on line one of the actors kept scaring me and I could tell it was making my fiancé tense. The actors get pretty close to your face which is a new experience for me. It's like when you're teasing your sibling while almost touching them while saying "I'm not touching you" - yeah, they might as well have! At one point we had to crawl through this small space on our hands and knees while a scary clown was wielding a chainsaw above us and I also couldn't do it. I was freaking out, I literally turned around to my fiancé and said "I can't do this" but with the line of people growing behind her, I had to. After that everything was considerably less scary. If we traveled with a group I felt like we got scared less, especially since at one point while in the Bunker we were behind a group of young girls who were prime targets. That was probably the less scary attraction for me, especially since my fiancé stepped on my shoe so the real life fear of losing my shoe overcame my pretend fear of being eaten.
I vaguely remember "The Undead" and this is likely because at this point my fiancé started walking in front of me so I was able to let her body guide me and pretty much keep my eyes closed the whole time. The Slaughterhouse and the Legends of the Goatman were the scariest. Kudos to my fiancé for guiding me and another group of girls because the animal masks and all the dark twists and turns in the Slaughterhouse were nuts. I don't think I have ever squeezed anyone that tight before. Legends of the Goatman was really scary because a good portion of it was outside and we went by ourselves. And at the end, it was just us and the Goatman just staring at each other. It was super intense. We ended with the Hayride, our guide was super funny, she was just rolling with the punches and had great one-liners. It wasn't that scary so it was a nice way to bring my heart rate back down to where it belonged after all the other attractions. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good time/scare. Thanks again Yelp for the wonderful event.
