My husband and I were trying to remove a dead tree in our front yard, when - you guess it - we ran into a water pipe. The main water pipe that feeds our house started to leak. I called Penguin plumbing and they came out right away. We received prompt service and the technician - Chris was so polite and professional. I was flabbergasted regarding the cost!. I understood that this was emergent (certainly to us) so I was expecting a few hundred dollars but the end cost was $733.22. I couldn't believe it! There was no digging involved - my husband and I had exposed the pipe; so all the technician needed to do was cut the pipe in two places with a simple pipe cutter then put on two push fit connectors. Took twenty minutes at best to perform the service.
Then after the service was performed he told me the cost then said "COD" which stands for cash on delivery - I wrote out a check. I was suppose to get an invoice/receipt right away because I provided my email and they assured me they would send an electronic version. I was very anxious to see exactly cost $733.22, but I never received one. I had to call three times to request a receipt. I spoke to someone name Wanda (or close to it). I explained how anxious I was to see the receipt because I wanted all tasks and services to be invoiced so I could see why it cost so much - and I explained that I had awesome service, but I would never be able to do business with them again because of their outrageous cost. Wanda said she would have her manager call and maybe something could be done. Well - I was never contacted again; and finally after 21 days of waiting I received my receipt. It just listed "fixed broken pipe' as the service - $733.22.
So - if you are a Rockefeller - and want good service - by all means call Penguin Air and Plumbing, but most people do not have $733.22 to fix 10 inches of broken pipe.
