I like how well served this airport is by Southwest Airlines - which in my opinion is the greatest airline.
But the smoking here ruins any charm this LAS airport otherwise has. Even though it is technically in designated area - it doesn't mean dangerous secondhand smoke doesn't escape, according to the CDC who recently studied this. The CDC concluded "prohibiting smoking in all indoor areas is the only effective way to fully eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke".
Virtually every other major US airport (and leading global ones like PEK and PVG) have eliminated indoor smoking because of the dangers. These indoors rooms are also costly to maintain, so why should non-smokers have to subsidize something that is polluting the area (even outside the designated areas, according to the CDC.)? I hope LAS gets with the times and puts public health first.
