I have been coming to Tough Lotus for about 3 months now and I LOVE IT!
I have noticed my strength and flexibility improving steadily along the way. I appreciate that Marnie (the instructor) tries to mix up the classes and keep them fresh and challenging. It can be tough when you may have a class which is half first timers and half veterans to strike a balance.
I would recommend beginners try the balanced class which focuses more on stretching and learning the moves vs. strength. Those up for a challenge should try tough lotus which incorporates more lunges, push ups and variations to really make you find all those little muscles you had forgotten about.
You will sweat...its ok. :-) I certainly struggled through the first time trying to figure out the logistics of how to hang upside down and work with the fabrics, but if you stick with it you may find yourself enjoying a really unique and fun workout.
