| - Hi,
First time reviewer, but felt I had to speak up. Just like many other reviewers I read, service started out good, they were professional, efficient, and did a nice job. Then after a couple of months, service changed. Several sprinkler heads were cut and even left decapitated on the ground in plain sight. Leaves were getting blown into the pool in copious amounts, and even though as a condition on my account, they stopped maintaining my two citrus trees (removal of suckers), and the leaves and debris left around them. In October 2015, and in March 2016 they managed to cut three irrigation dripper heads on both occasions.
I have talked to Brent on three occasions, over the past 10 days, to please clean up the side yard with the citrus trees, Every time he says I'll make note, and get someone over there to take care of that part of yard. It still hasn't happened. Moar lawn service will be here for their normal schedule in three days. I guess I can wait til then. It's a bit embarrassing to have family and friends from out of state want to see your citrus trees and knowing you pay for lawn service to have the area look so shabby.
I asked them to repair a few leaks in the front yard irrigation system. Leaks in the lines were fixed but for some reason the front irrigation system remained on even after the timer shut it off. I would have to manually turn the shutoff valve at the faucet each day to turn on or off the front yard irrigation system. I talked to Brent Tanner, he sent Cale to find out whats going on, Cale sent me an e-mail that explained he tried to replace the diaphragm but to no avail, then he noticed a crack in the valve was the culprit. He wanted to replace both front and back yard valves since he was digging up the box. $40 per valve, $125 per hour labor. I was quoted $205 to do the job. I spoke with Brent and said I would pay for the labor and the one valve that was being replaced since it was good to get them done at same time, but the not the other valve that needed repair. I told Brent I believe Moar's crew cracked the valve when they did the leak repairs on the front yard irrigation lines. Brent Said this was news to him he would talk to Cale. Cale let me know via e-mail he was fighting a cold so repairs were delayed. Cale repairs both valves and Brent charges me via auto draft $170.00. $205 - $40 = $165, but I thought maybe their was some other tax or part that was charged and didn't think anything of the automatic bank draft. I was wrong. Brent sends me an email saying he made an error and the $125 was for labor only and I would see another bank draft for the two valves at $80. Turns out the bank draft of $170 was the labor on the valve replacements and my bimonthly lawn service combined.
I thought what happened here? I thought I was only paying for the one valve? I thought my two citrus trees and their surrounding area around them are supposed to be free of suckers and leaves/weeds? I have desert landscaping, no grass, all rocks and a few bushes. Why is so hard to take care of my small yard? Yet not hard at all for Moar to charge me full rate on services not done or agreed upon?
I called Brent, he said he wasn't at his desk, he was at home with his five kids, and has over 800 customers, and couldn't recall our conversations fully and would make (another) note on my account on Monday about both the over charge on the valve and the citrus tree area that was missed and still needed clean up. I am also a family man, but when it comes to business, I don't make a customer feel like I am invading their personal time or make them feel like just 1 in 800 other customers. After all it was Saturday when I called. I work full time, and weekends are normally the only time I have to deal with such things.
So that is my experience with Moar Lawn and Landscape.
Well after several more mishaps with poor service, cut sprinkler heads, and absent leadership, I had to reduce to one star.
I think that Moar has a poor internal communication system between the client to office to crews.
