| - First and most importantly, the customer service philosophy at this store is the best I have experienced out of the four Verizon stores I visited within the last three weeks.
The first three stores were Verizon corporate stores - one in Connecticut and two in Pittsburgh, Oakland (Forbes Avenue) and The Waterfront (Homestead, PA). The store in Connecticut was okay and temporarily solved my problem until I could get home to Pittsburgh. I needed to get a new phone and I wanted the Samsung 8 Note. The two Pittsburgh stores' salespeople were rude, not helpful in the least little bit, and looked at me like I was the Three-Eyed Raven when I asked about the Samsung 8 Note. They couldn't have cared less and knew nothing about the phone.
I popped into the Verizon store in Squirrel Hill (also on Forbes Avenue) and immediately was greeted with smiles, how can I help you, etc. David, Gary, Andre, and newbie, Nick were very helpful, attentive, and understood perfectly my predicament because the S8Note hadn't been officially released yet. The told me I could come back the next day and place an order for the phone which I did. Because of their expert salesmanship and overall excellent customer service, I added a new Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet and an awesome keyboard case for the tablet. They offered to help me anytime I needed help and all I had to do was pop in and ask.
In fairness, Verizon customer service over the phone is always excellent but I prefer to purchase big ticket items in person. I believe that Verizon has the best phone service out there. However, the Verizon Corporate Office should take a page out of Go Wireless' customer service training manual because their employees, in my experience, are exemplary. I will never, ever shop at a Verizon corporate store again.
I highly recommend that if you are shopping for a new phone, tablet, or any other Verizon product and prefer to do so through human contact :) - you should visit this Squirrel Hill store or find another Go Wireless storefront. P.S. Nick the Newbie's taste in music is also excellent :) .
