Renting from this company felt like a scam. The website rate was less than the other companies so we went with it. We reserved a compact car like we always do with every other rental we ever get. And we rent 4-6 times a year from any company with cheap rates. Website stated "Ford Focus or similar" which was fine with us. We're only 2 people with 2 bags. Upon arrival at the counter we were given the keys to a Smartcar. I drive a smart car at home so know is capabilities well. Its great for city driving and some highway. And its NOT similar to a Ford Focus in any way. I said that we didn't want it as it was too small for us and our luggage. "Well, we can upgrade you for $25/day." I balked and then he asked where we were staying as perhaps he could give us a discount on the upgrade, if the hotel was a partner agency. I mentioned the tiny B&B outside of Tucson and he pecked at a few keys on his computer and said "I can charge you $12/day for the upgrade". We took it and knew he was lying about the partnership. We were given a Toyota Corrolla - an economy car with other companies we've rented from. In the end we paid over $100/day for the car. We've never paid this much anywhere - even Europe. And we will never use Advantage again.
