| - Spent an evening here Saturday July 12. The location is cool--former location of Anderson's Fifth Estate. Ambiance was great, not a bad seat in the house. The beer selection was good--especially for a comedy club. We did not eat so I can't rate the food but I like the concept of having a BBQ restaurant associated with a comedy club. Our waiter was quick. He was also funny--perhaps he is a comedian in training. THe ticket prices are awesome. $15 for a 2 hour show. Drink prices were typical. Some people complain, but the prices are no more expensive than any other bar in town. I don't recall all of the names of the comedians, but the MC was good, the first act was decent--not great but I usually don't expect great with the first act of the night. He made me laugh though. Mike Kennedy was by far the funniest comedian of the night. I believe he is headlining soon and I'm sure people will love him. The main comedian, Carmen Lynch was funny, but honestly, I did not think she was as funny as Mike Kennedy. As some other reviewers have said, the owner, Howard Hughes is not funny. He spent so much time on the stage--two different times--and I'm not sure why. His style of humor is not funny. He seems to want to hear himself talk, but very few people were laughing. At times you could hear a pin drop. HH made a few funny jokes and if he were to stop after about 2 minutes he would probably be tolerable. Maybe he would do better as an MC--crack a joke, introduce the next act and get off the stage.
