I got a LivingSocial for three treatments of Velashape. The coupon was such a good deal I got two! Well I went in. I was 15 minutes early so I asked if someone could do my makeup while I waited. The lady who normally does it wasn't there so one of the hair stylist tried to do it. The whole time she worked it was a plug for her to cut my hair, which I didn't need since I have a stylist. She also couldn't find sponges so she kept using her hands. I also realized halfway through that she hadn't cleaned or sanitized any of the brushes she was using on my face before starting. It was disgusting. I waved her off from finishing and then basically put purrel on my face because I was so grossed out.
Also while I was waiting the desk clerk was complaining about clients in plain ear shot. I thought this was HIGHLY unprofessional.
Then I had to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time to FINALLY get started. Not only that but the procedure wasn't explained to me at all. I asked some questions and was made to feel like I was intruding or being bothersome for asking them. I asked very clearly if it would leave marks since my boyfriend was coming in from out of town that night and I didn't want to have red marks everywhere. She assured me I might have some red marks immediately but they would fade in 30 minutes or so.
The procedure started and I kept feeling like she was burning me. I also felt she wasn't covering the area evenly but I'd never done it so what did I know?
Anyways long story short I ended up with burns on four different parts. I now have a scar on my thigh. If you look close enough you can still see the burn marks on the other areas. I knew I wasn't going back so I called LivingSocial. They were able to refund me for the one coupon I hadn't started but I was still out a bunch of money since I had done one treatment they couldn't refund that coupon.
AVOID AVOID AVOID.
EDIT:
The owner contacted me and offered to redo the Velashape services and told me that she had changed the people involved previously. Well I went in to my appointment with Donna and she was great. She was very gentle and it DID feel like a massage. No pain. She was very liberal with the lotion and seemed to know what she was doing and was able to explain the procedure to me to my satisfaction.
My only complaint is that when I had to reschedule an appointment, the only availability was a week out.
So although still scarred from the previous time, I was willing to give it a shot and Donna turned out to be really great.
