It was our first visit to Homewood Suites. We stayed one night while celebrating our Anniversary. We had a one bedroom suite which had everything we needed. The hotel was in great shape (I think it is brand new) and very clean. They had a nice 24 hour fitness center, a good looking pool (though we didn't use it), big walk in showers, etc... We didn't use the wifi or eat any food (they have breakfast and even dinner Monday - Thursday) so I can't really comment in that regard. There were good restaurants right next door (Ruby Tuesday and Hickory Tavern for example) and it was a nice area in general. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a paved walking trail basically right off the hotel parking lot: http://charmeck.org/mecklenburg/county/ParkandRec/Greenways/OpenGreenways/Pages/LowerMcAlpineCreekMcMullenCreekandFourMileCreekGreenways.aspx
I stay in Hampton and Holiday Inns a lot for work but I'll be on the lookout for Homewood Suites now as well. My only complaint was that it was a bit pricey but this may be in line with area hotels and I was okay with it for our one night.
