| - I'm not usually a fan of buffets. Generally the food tends to be overpriced, unimpressive, too greasy, too salty, too laden with MSG. But you know.. Tin Tin is really pretty good.
The story here is that Tin Tin was owned by a Chinese couple and the food was wonderful. They sold it (or leased it?) to a Korean couple, and the quality of the food went down. Now the original couple has taken the restaurant back and everything has gotten better again. I was lamenting the lack of authentic Chinese food in Charlotte to a couple I met in DC who are actually from Atlanta. They told me the story of Tin Tin and said that it's one of their favorite restaurants. Well, with that kind of recommendation, I had to come try it.
We stopped in for lunch, and even during the late hours of lunch, the food was still fresh. This is important. You don't want the dregs! There were plenty of authentic Chinese dishes which were pretty decent. I try and stick to a veggie diet, and the vegetable options were plentiful. They had congee and Chinese donut, which is pretty awesome! It was just what I wanted. The soups looked good, so I may try those next time. They had a number of dim sum dishes in steamers, sushi choices, and pretty much any basic Chinese dish you'd like to eat. They have crab rangoon in weird triangles, but it just might be the best crab rangoon I've ever had.
Definitely recommend this place for lunch. Haven't been to dinner here yet, but I will definitely be back, so stay tuned... :)
