| - Today was my first visit to European Wax Center in the Sharon Corners strip mall (bottom level, convenient parking.) I easily scheduled my waxing appt weeks ago via the website. I requested Shelly Ann due to a few rave yelp reviews!
My appt was for 10am, but due to a schedule change, I had to call early this morning and cancel via voicemail. I requested that someone call me to reschedule and Rebecca (front desk) did so as soon as they opened. I was rescheduled for 4:45pm, but given the hectic day, I didn't arrive until almost 5pm. They were unable to take me at that time, but Rebecca rescheduled me for the last opening at 5:45pm. Yep, I had 3 appointments in one day!! I truly appreciated the service & flexibility!
As for the waxing service:
Staff: Rebecca at the front desk was friendly & knowledgeable. She answered a lot of my questions about the products they sell and the packages. Shelly Ann (esthetician) was fantastic. She explained every step as she went and achieved the perfect trifecta in waxing: quick, painless, and thorough! We had great conversation (even in the awkward moments) and she was very professional. One thing that was different here: she did not leave the room when I undressed. It did not bother me at all, but it is a change from most other places I've been to. However...what's the point of her leaving when she's going to see it all anyway!!
Facility: The room was pretty simple, but was clean. After my service was complete, Shelly Ann removed the paper liner and sprayed the surface with a cleaner. I liked witnessing her clean the room. It made me feel confident it had been done prior to me as well! There are speakers playing music, so I got to sing along with Beyoncé for a bit during my service.
Products: EWC uses a hard wax (no strips) and custom products that were great on my sensitive skin. The wax came off clean and I didn't have any residue left on. I have no irritation or skin damage which I'm thrilled about.
Sales: They will try to sell you their skin care line as you check out. They are experts at it so it happens quickly. You have to feel comfortable with declining the products if you don't want them! I did buy the serum (prevents bumps/ingrown hairs) for $25. You don't use much so it should last for months. The recommended body wash was $20. I declined that. EWC also offers discounts if you buy a package (ie. Buy 9 waxes, get 3 free). You can break it up into 3 payments. If you know you will return regularly, this is a great deal. I don't go often enough to pay that cost. However I did not feel pressured to buy it and easily declined.
I'm sure I'll return and consider myself a EWC client now! Try it out and ask for Shelly Ann!!
