  • Soul Gastrolounge has gotten Way too full of itself. I have never been treated so rudely at any other restaurant, ever. I have been to Soul at least a handful of times. I've always enjoyed it. However, the last time I attempted to dine there I was treated to a truly shocking display of rudeness. I knew it was going to be a long wait, so when I was told it was going to be 90 minutes I wasn't the least bit surprised. However, I did find it a bit odd that that I was 3rd in line and that it was still going to be that long before I was seated. I hopped around Plaza Midwood to kill some time. 90 minutes later I called and somehow I was still 3rd in line. This defied logic. 2.5 hours later I called and was told that I was fourth in line. Uhmmm... how is it possible to move backward in the line after waiting 2.5 hours? When I posed this question I was very rudely told that it was my fault for not having downloaded a seating app. At this point it was so late that other restaurants in the area were no longer serving. I had out of town friends with me and this was their introduction to Charlotte. Never in my life have I been treated so poorly at a restaurant. Soul will certainly be just fine without my business (which they will never get again). The food is good, but with the ever improving Charlotte restaurant scene, Soul Gastro may lose some of its following if this level (lack of) customer service continues.
