| - I was torn between rating Gibby's a 4 or a 5, but Shannon, our server, deserves it to be a 5. Before I go into any other detail, I need to make sure you all know the service is hands down some of the best we have had. Drinks were never close to being empty throughout our 2 hour meal.
The food is phenomenal--from the appetizers to the meals. We had the shrimp cocktail, French onion soup, Gibby's salads (yum! Where can I get that dressing in the US), a Gibby's cut ribeye and a petite filet Mignon. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. I was jealous of my husband's steak because he got the garlic butter/herbs on his, but mine was fabulous, too. The Monte Carlo potatoes are also delicious! I wish we had room for dessert--the apple crisp that was going by looked to die for.
The only downfall to our dinner was that we were seated in the basement area, and it was extremely loud. I know Gibby's is located in a city, and I know the majority of loud parties were Americans (like myself) enjoying a night out in Montreal, so I can overlook the small let down. Just be forewarned if you're looking for a romantic dinner, this may not be the ideal place to go on a Saturday night.
