  • This place kicks the pants off of Rogers, Blockbuster or any other soon-to-be-bankrupt chain movie place (thanks Netflix!) 7-24, on the other hand, probably has a better selection than what most Canadian users can get on Netflix. If it's on a disc, they probably have a copy - you name it, everything from hot new releases to skin flicks, lots of TV on DVD, a decent selection on Blu-Ray, documentaries and indie films, queer cinema, Canadiana, British films, foreign... It can be confusing but they do make a pretty good effort at organizing everything by genre or theme and it's all alphabetized. Just make sure to bring your rentals back on time. Taking discs out is inexpensive, but late fees will strike quickly if you are absent-minded. Maybe the only video store I've ever been to with a bigger or more eclectic selection is (the tragically now defunct!) Videomatica in Vancouver. I can only hope that 7-24 does not suffer the same fate in the Village.
