Have never had an issue with renting a car before until now. On Saturday morning I made reservations to pick up a car to drive to AZ. I'm a local of Las Vegas and wanted a safer and a reliable car to drive. When I entered in ALL my info and paid with my DEBIT card for the reservation online (through Hotwire) it never alerted me stating that I needed a CREDIT card or a RETURNING flight. When I proceeded to the counter to pick up the vehical that I already paid for, the agent asked if I was paying with credit. I stated that it had been charged to my debit card. The agent asked if I had a credit card or return flight back home. First off. If someone lives in Vegas why would you need a return flight? I stated that I was a local and didn't have one. They refused to give me the car without the credit card or return flight. Like I said, I've never encountered a problem before this. My bf and I rent cars all the time. I wish the manager could see where I was coming from instead of repeating the fine print of terms and conditions. If we're in an age of technology the system should of red flagged my reservation due to my local address and debit card transaction. I will not recommend Alamo to anyone. So disappointed.
