| - They accepted my laptop for service and quoted me a price of $189 parts and labor to replace a liquid damaged keyboard. I told them straight up when i brought it in that the keyboard is the only thing not working as I have been using it with an external for a few weeks.
They began the parts replacement and called me to inform me they stripped the screws on the board and will need to send it out to their main repair center for 5 times the original parts replacement cost because they need to replace everything inside the system now for some reason... They proceeded to try and convince me that the liquid that spilled on my keyboard stripped the screws. When I went into the store in person, they said that they never touched the screws.... I ordered the part myself and opened the case and shockingly, the screws were indeed stripped.
Justin's solution was to simply tell me over and over that he is not a liar. I am stuck with a simple broken keypad on a macbook pro, and stripped screws. I told him that the ONLY THING i want done, is the stripped screws taken out, and I think that is reasonable after spending over $4000 in apple products in the last decade, and I was declined and he proceeded to say that the liquid on the keyboard, stripped the screws on my laptop that they never opened....
I am a technician by trade and know that accidents happen, but I expect a little more integrity when thousands of dollars are being spent on products, and now I can no longer buy apple products, or recommend them to anyone, all because of their refusal to be honest about damaging $2 worth of screws. I will go to a third party service place to have them taken out, and my next system will not have an apple logo on it because I don't like their repair policy of "replace everything no matter what is wrong".
