  • For Texans: Giant Eagle is like Kroger or HEB. For Buffalo-nians: It's what I imagine a Wegmans would have been 15 years ago. BEER: For those who are new to the PA (like myself), beer, wine, and spirits can only be sold by certain distributors. GE has found a way to sell beer about the same price or higher than a Kroger would in TX. I believe it's because of the hot food "cafe". HOT FOOD: I love Wegmans and strongly believe that it should be national. Their hot food is the best! GE'S hot food is not on par. Our purchases were not fresh at all. It's good when you're in a pinch, for example, you just moved to PA and your stuff won't get here for 4 days after, but I probably won't purchase it anymore after this week. PRODUCE/MEAT: Fresh and we'll stocked. I can't wait to make my first fridge stocking trip!
