| - I am not happy. We brought our computer in on a Sunday early afternoon for a tune up, an upgrade to Windows 10, re-install McAfee that was about to expire, and get some malware off. The guy who initially helped us(Jeff S) was very helpful and engaging. He understood our problem and explained what they were going to do. We signed the work order and paid the bill. We were told all the work would be done in 24 hours-48 at the absolute max. Okay, fine.
Here is where my problem is. Customer Service. My husband called on Monday to check the progress, they said it should be done by the end of the day....well, the store closes at 9:00, and we never heard back from them the rest of the afternoon. I then stopped in after I was done with classes on Tuesday at noon....still NOT done...I was told that the site they were loading the upgrade for Windows 10 was running slow...and it may take several more hours. Are you kidding me? Okay, I know it is out of their control that the sites are running slow...anyways, about 3 hours later they call that it is done and I can come pick it up. So, I trek down to the store and the guy starts showing me the new microsoft office, and a little tutorial on Windows 10. Well, I had asked about them helping me put McAfee on my phone, and it's a good thing I did. Come to find out, it was NOT on the computer! GRRRRR...so, needless to say I walked out of there without my laptop. Again, with the answer of oh it may take several more hours... At this time I was so frustrated all I could do was sit in my car and cry. I need my laptop to work from home...
So, on 8:30 Tuesday evening, I am finally leaving with my computer, but NO McAfee on my phone. .so, now I need to trek back to the store to get it on my phone. I just hope this is not a 'several hours' ordeal as I have already had too many several hour ordeals with Office Max, and frankly I don't have the time.
I feel that they could have at the very least called me along the way to let me know what was going on and the problems. Even though they were apologetic, I am still upset over this.
I like Office Max and their products and prices, and their store is bright and clean. But the customer service is seriously lacking.
