  • A good stopover from the Grand Canyon(Skywalk) on the way to Las Vegas. Its right on the Nevada/Arizona border; literally. You even pass through rocky terrain with signage of Bighorn Sheep crossings while driving to and from. I had my eye out for them. A great engineering marvel worth at least a couple of hours walk around. They've also memorialized the several tragic deaths that occurred during the dangerous years of building it. You are in the high desert so be prepared for extreme temperatures; over 100 while we were there. But dry heat and adaptable. And I'd imagine quite cold during winter months. A highlight for Gomer Pyle while visiting Las Vegas, in a 1960s episode of that show. Much to the chagrin of his traveling partner, Sgt. Carter... Just a little TV trivia.
