  • From 7/7/15 thru 7/9/15 We came here for a mini vacay in town because why live in Vegas if you're not going to take advantage of the resorts! Being from NYC it's hard not to pick certain things apart, so I will try not to, considering this is a hodgepodge of my hometown meant for tourist- I promise not to be too nit-picky. The New York New York Hotel is located on the South Las Vegas Strip and has connections to the other resorts such as MGM, Excalibur, Luxor, plus Mandalay Bay. The outside of the hotel looks like someone took sections from all five Burroughs and fused them together like a patchwork quilt. Personally, I feel the fusion of all the Burroughs is Frankenstein-esk in appearance! There are shops and restaurants inside of the hotel, as well as on the outside of the building to give you that New Yorky vibe. The inside of the hotel is congested like time square with all the tourist moving about, the lighting is ambient, you see a slew slot machines, and other gambling of sorts on the casino floor. Our room was on the Century wing of the hotel. I liked the setup; it was pretty spacious, comfortable beds, great views, and the room smelled awesome- which is not something I can for a hotel room. Housekeeping kept the things tidy after we would come back from our wanderings the room was spotless. The pool is open from 9am-7pm I believe. I'm guessing they the close the pool sort of early because this is a family oriented hotel. I like the set up at the pool; there was a fair amount of seating, a big hot tub, and bar if you're in the mood for libations. My only complaint is that the pool was freezing cold, which you would think is a good thing but because the area has a ton of shading, so the water wasn't very pleasant. Aside from the cold pool I'm impressed!! If I had to stay here again I would be okay with that, it was fun, affordable, and entertaining- my experience was great here.
