  • Ever since I visited with my family in 1999, I have wanted to stay at the Mirage. As a child, this was the closest I thought I was going to get to tropical vacation. Luckily, that last part hasn't been true, but Mirage still has a romantic hold on me. Like most hotels on the strip, its huge, but I think manageable. Getting to our room from the main door took less than 10 min, which was a big plus after a night on the town and aching feet. One of my favorite things about this place is the massive aquarium filled with tropical fish that they have behind the check in counter. It made standing on line (which wasn't that long) very entertaining. Keep an eye out for the eel! You don't see it often, but when you do, it's quite a treat. Our room was spacious, clean and had some of the most comfortable beds I've ever been in. We were cold our first night there and we asked them to bring us an extra blanket. I swear this blanket must have been made by blind monks on a mountain sanctuary with wool from Alpacas that are fed rainbows and happy thoughts. It was THAT comfy. The beds were memory foam, so no contest there. Overall, I love the laid back easy vibe of this place and the little garden in the lobby. When I came here back in the day, the white tigers were in an enclosure that was open to public view. It's sad that now, we have to pay for it. One problem I have with Mirage is that it didn't have a food court. There were no options for a quick cheap bite, so we walked over to the Venetian for many of our meals. The other problem was that the WIFI was horrendous. It was hard to spend a day in bed streaming movies if we had to pause to buffer all the time. Otherwise, I had a very pleasant stay.
