| - DO NOT COME HERE!!
I almost always check yelp reviews before stepping in anywhere but I saw this place across the way from a well rated Bali foot spa with a very long wait. That obviously should have been an obvious warning sign but I didn't want to wait and thought, how bad can it be?
I went in for the usual $20 that pretty much every foot spa in chinatown has. I asked for full body. The going rate in chinatown for a 60 min full body foot spa massage is $30. I know this because I have tried many other places. The lady at the front pointed to the $28 with hot stones. Sounded reasonable. Then when they took me to the back and my feet were already in the hot bath, they told me that full body will be $35. Fine. I thought it was shady but fine. The massage was solid, though I noted it was 55 minutes, not 60 min, as some places do. no better or worse than the other places in town. Then when we got to the register, it got ugly. First she insisted that I pay cash. when I told her I don't have enough cash, she gave me attitude and added $1 to the charge. Fine. THEN she INSISTED that I have to pay her a $10 tip. OK lady, here's the thing about tips. They are not mandatory. Because if it's mandatory, you're supposed to add it to the price. Especially when you hustle me into a $35 tx after you tell me it's $28, I do not want to tip you $10. Needless to say, I am NEVER EVER going back. I felt pretty silly after I got home and read all the negative yelp reviews about this place. ugh. Should have known better than to walk in without checking yelp. Never again!
