Came in here for lunch after friends' reviews that this was a 'must see' in Phoenix. We brought my parents and showed up for lunch around 1 (on a Sunday). The restaurant area was quite busy and we were a bit surprised to see that no one was utilizing the giant patio out front. We had a bit of a disconnect with the host and being properly seated but that gave us time to survey the decor.
Food wise, I opted for the brisket plate and my family all had sandwiches. Our food arrived quite promptly, which was perfect. I was served 6 long strips of brisket, that was well cooked. The sauce provided was necessary as it was a smidge dry and didn't have the smoke ring one would look for. My sides of coleslaw and mashed potatoes were thoroughly enjoyed though and I definitely didn't leave hungry. The coleslaw has blue cheese mixed in which I felt was delicious but if that's not your think, perhaps choose another item. Everyone else enjoyed their meals and found the food worth the price.
Service was fairly attentive and our drinks were never empty. The eye makeup on each was unique though it would have been nice to see at least one of them enthusiastic about being there. Instead we got a lot of grumpy faces and no smiles. 'No more Mr Nice Guy' seems to fit in well ;) They also ring what sounds like a fire alarm bell every time someone orders a jumbo hot dog and the servers all yell something. There must have been 10 hot dogs ordered during our visit and it got a bit old after the first time.
Overall, we had a decent visit. I feel think might be more of a place to stop in for a drink before a game of some sort, and enjoy their huge patio.
