| - I just want to update my previous review that I made a little while ago. As you can see Banfeild got my full support and definitely 5 starts. but, unfortunately that has changed. Moving forward, I would not recommended this place to take your dog. If you do, do not purchase the wellness plans. They sound good in the beginning but end up not even helping especially in my case. You're still going to spend a pretty penny. I felt that if the vet and techs listened to anything that I was saying, then half of the things that were done, won't have been. No one explained or communicated anything - from start to finish. I felt more like a customer that they were trying to take money from, instead of helping and caring for my dog. They wont be touching my dog again.
-You cannot just give an animal tons of medication, run countless tests and perform surgery on an animal when there is no probable cause.
Recently my dog had become ill from possibly swallowing a squeaker from a dog, its was a 50/50 chance. I took him here to just get checked over to make sure that he was ok. He did vomit several times the following day, but stopped vomiting the same day. I explained that situation to the vet tech and the vet. They took him for x-rays which I agreed too because that makes sense in my eyes. They came back and said that there was just many areas of "suspicion". but that was it (very inconclusive, basically couldn't confirm if they saw anything). They brought my dog back with IV fluids(even though he was still eating, drinking, peeing and pooping like normal) and sent him home with anti nausea medication. I was instructed that he would have to come in the following day in the morning to have x-rays because he was most likely going to need surgery. Welp that sucks because I'm working in the AM and live a little bit away. I was told that my dog needed to be in the office for more x-rays no later than 8am, they would send the x-rays to the vet that I saw today and it there was no change in the x-rays she would come in and do surgery that same day. So, I call off work, drive my butt all the way down there at 630 am to make sure I'm there promptly around 7am, and the tech informs me that they can take the dog and do the x-rays but the vet wont be in till 9am anyways. (ok cool, so I just called off of work, rushed her to be here on him and no one is even going to see the x-rays for another hour and a half, so my dogs just going to be alone in a cage, great!). So I leave and come back once they give me a call. I'm instructed by the vet tech that I will have to make another trip up her for more x-rays (this will be the third time now), because it still looks "suspicious". When I asked if they saw anything, she basically said no, that it just looked suspicious and that usually on the x-rays you cant really see anything anyways, that's why I wish we have an ultrasound machine. WAIT HOLD THE PHONE, so you're telling me that we've done all of this and you basically see nothing but still want me to come in again for more x-rays. ok... then I'm informed that he got more IV fluids..(this will be the 2 time he's gotten them, but is still eating and drinking = not needed), more nausea medications (2 time he's gotten them but hasn't thrown up in days) and antibiotics(for some reason, no one was able to explain why he got them). I told the techs that I didn't want him to have the mediation because he is acting like normal and I do not see a need for them, other then another charge. but I'm told that he NEEDED THEM! but to top this all off, and make matters even worse, the only advice that I was given as a solution to all of this was" well if his x-rays later tonight still look 'suspicious' well just do exploratory surgery". and it was said so nonchalant like it was no big deal. ummmm, no ! listen here I've already spent a lot of money at this place, for multiple things that have been done with no real medical rational and after all of this the only thing you can suggest if just cutting my dog open! that is not a good option at all. Especially when it is not confirmed that he ate the squeaker nor that you see anything. I'm so glad that I have a brain and just took my dog and left. He's is 100% better now, and thanks to them not on a operating table.
