| - Went for lunch and I really enjoyed the experience. Unique atmosphere with it being in an old church. The taco choices were just as unique.
The chips and salsa come out with 3 little cups of sauce. There is an orange habanero sauce, a green sauce that I would venture to guess was a tomatillo sauce, and a red sauce. The actual salsa was a a roasted corn type salsa. The orange sauce was excellent. A bit sweet and a bit hot. The green sauce was very good as well. The red sauce and the salsa were okay in my book.
As an appetizer, we got the jalapeno bacon guacamole to go with the chips. It was pretty good, but not blown away at all. Didn't really get much jalapeno heat or flavor from it.
The tacos... So I ordered a 3 taco plate consisting of the al pastor, peking duck, and coffee bean braised beef. My friends tried similar tacos, but also the Chipotle cherry steak taco. For me, the braised beef taco was the star of the show. Flavorful and fresh ingredients. The peking duck was a pleasant surprise! Very interesting flavors. Can't say I've had a taco like that, but it worked out. I was disappointed in the al pastor. The pork just did not taste very good in my opinion. I tried a bit of the cherry steak taco. This was excellent. Would definitely be a choice next time.
I also chose the street corn, off the cob, as the side after seeing many recommendations. It wasn't bad, but it didn't really live up to the hype.
Enjoyed the experience overall. Would love to go back and try out the broad selection of tequila.
