  • For someone who has lived in Pittsburgh for 7 years, I'm just as stunned as anyone else who might be aghast that I've never been here. I solved that problem yesterday when I went for the first time! First and foremost- the crowds weren't that bad! Thank goodness. I anticipated that it might be due to the lack of them being open for a week and a half but thankfully I missed this weekends crowd it seems. The misses to me was the lack of some of the rides being closed for what seemed like the majority of the day due to staffing (not maintenance), the gross waterpark food, and the signage. The others are self explanatory, but the signage came into question at the Dragon ride. It clearly states that no more than 2 riders are permitted at a time, and that the heavier person rides in the back. That's cool and all, except it doesn't say 'no single riders' anywhere on the sign. It most certainly should, as more than once I saw single riders hike up the stairs only to return dejected after being told they couldn't ride. And I was one of them. Other than that, most slides were open with the exception of the two biggest body slides (no loss there; can't do them due to being a scaredy cat) and the two single tube slides closest to them (which opened later in the afternoon, about 3 hours after opening). Despite the food being poorly made but exactly what you'd expect at a water park, i did enjoy the beer I bought and was able to walk around the entire park with. That made it a little more fun! I was also pleasantly surprised to find regular swimming pools around. 1 for older kids/adults, a tad pool for babies, and a playset one for young kids (not including the lazy river or wave pool). I didn't expect that at a waterpark. I was asked by another park patron if I would consider buying a season pass after going for my first time, and my answer is still no. I can see myself going once a summer, but other than that, no thanks!
