  • Why 4 stars? Because this was a solid option for a conference. --- --- --- Full disclosure: I did not have a room at this hotel, but I did spend a significant amount of time here over the course of two days. My company scheduled a work conference here and it worked out quite well! I'm giving it 4-stars because the same conference the year before was just a bit smoother. We had several sessions in the main ball room, which had plenty of room for our entire group, but when we had to funnel into the smaller rooms for breakout meetings, there was some major bottlenecking going on. The worst of the bottlenecking was actually at the breakfast station during the first morning. I don't eat breakfast so I was just looking for some water, but felt like I got swallowed up by a sea of humanity who were all trying to scoop croissants on their plate from every direction. One other minor complaint: we were sitting at circular tables for about 10 people in the main ballroom for a couple of hours at time. Because many of us were from out of town and likely extra-thirsty because of the new, desert climate, the one jug of water ran out in the first 15 minutes. I never noticed anyone coming by to refill the water at any point, which sounds like a bratty comment, but I think would be really appreciated in the future. But everything else about our experience was wonderful! The setting on the backside of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, with views overlooking the golf course. The weather was perfect in early March and it was the kind of place I wish I could have stayed at forever. We didn't partake in the restaurant out there since we had food catered, but I liked that they had a giant TV outside playing NCAA conference championships. If I wanted to ever come back to the area for a vacation, I'd love to stay here!
