James Beard award winner of 2011! This place has a ton of wine and they do take reservations! You can also get an estimate wait time off their website (thank you!). The interior was larger than I expected it to be. It is located in a plaza off the strip.I was told this was deemed the best Thai food in the entire nation and that Anthony Bourdain recommended not getting Pad Thai here. This place is known for their northern Thai dishes so I made sure to try many of those. I tried:
1. pad see ew
2. drunken noodles
3. salty Thai lemonade
4. Northern larb (ground pork with lime juice)
5. panang curry (delicious!)
6. nam prik noom (green chili dip)- super spicy, this was our least favorite dish. It was just a dip with a side of vegetables to dip into the green spicy sauce
7. crab fried rice (the best I've ever had!)
8. nua nam tok - sliced beef with lime juice
9. prawns with super spicy green chili lime sauce on a bed of cabbage - this dish was way too sour for me but my friends loved it
They charge for their regular rice but I didn't mind because their rice was delicious! It was gluttonous and soft. I could eat rice and curry all day. Serving sizes here are small so I would recommend ordering 1-2 dishes more than the number of heads in your party. Mango isn't in season right now so we didn't get to try the mango sticky rice dessert. Everything was super spicy despite being described as a 4 out of 10. Our meal ended up being around $25-28 per person.
