| - "What the heck happened to my ring?" That is how this adventure began. I was sitting at the bar, playing with my engagement ring, when I felt a ridge in the band, and upon inspecting it more closely, realized it had essentially fractured in the center. It was no longer a circle. Immediately, my husband looked at me and said, "What did you do?" I could see him imagining that I had recklessly carried a 50lb box of Yelp mints by my ring finger while he had been away and now, I was just pretending to discover the damage. I admit: I do recklessly carry things, but this was not the case.
After freaking out, we decided it would be as simple as resizing a ring, and we called around to get a very rough estimate of how much that would cost. After talking to a couple of spots, we decided Morgan Taylor was the right combination of value and potential quality of service. I arrived thinking they might say, "Wait, this is more than a resize. It will cost 5 times more than what we estimated." The jeweler took a gander at my ring and let me know it was filthy and that the procedure would be a bit more complicated and that my stone was loose.
Uh-oh.
However, when Dan (the owner) arrived, he looked at my ring and stuck to the price he had mentioned on the phone, which was super reasonable. I was so impressed and appreciative. My ring was fixed in a couple of hours and returned in tip-top shape. Even better, Raoul, the jeweler, said that based on what he saw, the ring could have fractured with even the slightest pressure, so it was not the result of my careless behavior. Thank you, Raoul!
Looking around, they have an interesting collection of jewelry, including some vintage watches that caught my eye. I just had to try on one!
For value and customer service, they have earned a a new customer for life! (I will forgive Dan for saying that Google reviews are better than Yelp.)
