Jet Fuel in my opinion is a time honored Toronto institution. Every Torontonian should go at least once, more if you are an avid cyclist (Jet Fuel is considered the cafe of choice for bike couriers, they even sponsor their own race team!). It is to cafes what the Bovine is to rock 'n roll bars. Famous for their lattes (which became noteworthy for their tastiness and the fact they use to be $2.00 back in the day) though their other espresso based drinks are pretty darn good as well.
Plenty of seating, the music is louder than most cafe's but the choice in music is always good, especially if you are a rock 'n roller. Not too formal in set up, you just walk in up to the counter, find someone who looks like they take the beverage orders and ask for what you want. The decor is cozy-cool and there was at the time of my recent visit a collection of 'Rat Fink' inspired artwork on the walls.
This isn't a place for the quiet Macbook typing crowd. It's more a place to gather with friends and shoot the shit about whatever as you down a large espresso based drink. No snacks, not a huge selection of beverages, it's just a straight 'n simple espresso bar. Check it out.
