  • This review is for the Deuce and the SDX-which sadly doesn't have its own listing. The SDX is the Strip-Downtown Express and basically does the same thing as the Deuce, just stops at less hotels. For every 3-4 stops that the Deuce takes, the SDX takes one. If you're trying to get downtown to Fremont, I'd recommend the SDX. It'll take you there in about 25 minutes, while the Fremont will take you just about an hour (55 minutes for us.) Obviously, it prefers on whether you prefer the scenic route or the quick one. Make sure you check online where the SDX picks up, since it has way less stops than the Deuce, which you can pick up at any corner. (One more pro tip, the SDX doesn't check bus passes once you hop on, so make sure to buy in advance at one of the kiosks at the bus stops. And for those of you out there that think this is a great idea for free transit, I wouldn't recommend trying it. There are some stops where an employee will be checking tickets and they said that instead of just giving warnings now, it's an automatic violation if you get caught. Don't be the douche that gets a $50 ticket for trying to get out of paying bus fare.) You can get an all-access 24 hour pass for $8, which means you can use it on the Deuce, the SDX AND all city buses (the 109, the WAX, etc) -- this doesn't apply VICE VERSA, so don't buy a pass on the city bus. You won't be able to use it on the Deuce or SDX. We did realize that it's best to buy the pass later in the day, so you can use it the next day also. We bought our first pass at 8:30 AM, even though we didn't plan on using it until the evening. So we were only able to use it that evening, whereas if we waited to buy it until right before we needed it, we would have been able to use it the next day also. The Deuce is also great for sight seeing. You can hop on and hop off whenever you want. It was pretty cold while we were there, so we weren't fighting the hot desert heat - so we tried to walk as much as possible. We only bought Deuce passes for two days. If you plan on using the Deuce or SDX often, make sure to get a 3 day pass to save a few bucks. Our 2nd to last day there, we bought a pass at 3:45 PM to explore the Stratosphere and all the North Strip hotels that we hadn't seen yet. We were able to use it the next day to get back to the airport on the WAX bus. It was truly a steal for $8! Best deal in Vegas!
