| - We really enjoyed our dining experience at the Strip House prior to seeing a show at Planet Hollywood. We were able to get a reservation without any issues the day of the show. We were seated promptly at a nice table in the back of the restaurant and greeted almost immediately by our waiter, Brent. He took the time to explain the specialties for the evening and he took our drink order just as soon as we were ready, We had a couple of questions about the menu, and he covered everything expertly - we were thinking about the Chateaubriand for two, however after some discussion, that really wasn't going to to be the best option for us. My mom wound up ordering the 8oz Filet and I ordered the filet as well, just in the larger 12oz size. As is the tradition in a good steak house, all of the sides are served ala carte - we chose the whipped potatoes and the asparagus for our two sides; it turned out that both of these were excellent choices!
As we waited for the steaks to be cooked, fresh bread and butter was provided. I think that we ate all of the bread before the steaks were served - delicious. The reason to dine at a good steak house is of course, the steaks. Both of our filet's were cooked perfectly; tender, juicy and pretty much delicious. I've had a steak with more flavor, however this one was pretty close to the top of the class for a filet, overall. I'd have no hesitation to order a filet here again. It's worth noting that the price difference between the 8oz and the 12oz filet was only $8 - it would be hard to pass up the larger steak for such a little difference in price! We also ordered both the Béarnaise sauce and the Bordelaise sauce - I had never had Bordelaise sauce before, and I was really glad that I tried it! I tasted the Béarnaise sauce as well, however I used the Bordelaise sauce almost exclusively.
The service was what you would expect for this price point - very professional, very knowledgeable about the menu and the food. We never felt rushed, nor did we feel like we were missing something when we should have had it. I did notice that some other Yelpers have mentioned the service as a weak point - this simply was not our experience. If I had a suggestion for improvement, it's that the manager could have been more proactive about coming over to address the tables and ask how everything is going with the meal. I actually called a manager over to compliment the food and the service - he almost seemed surprised that I had great things to say. If the gentleman was regularly interacting with tables, maybe that wouldn't be the case.
Overall, the Strip House was a very good experience for the quality of the food, the great service and even the price paid. It's not inexpensive, make no mistake about that - however you get what you pay for sometimes - this was one of them.
