  • Ambiance: Definitely hole-in-a-wall that's a little dark and bare inside. They have tables outside but they're that wire-mesh style so be careful with that BBQ sauce. Food is served cafeteria style, you order and they immediately assemble everything for you. The staff was a little brusk trying to move the line along but they were not mean in any way. Food: We had the pork ribs which had a nice smokey-charred flavor and pulled off the bone easily. The rib silverskin was crispy which I enjoyed and the spice rub was complex enough to not need any sauce. A half-rack was also more than enough for one person. The chopped brisket sandwich was pretty good but ultimately nothing special, neither dry nor super moist, smokey but not particularly beefy. The BBQ sauce had a great balance between tangy, sweet, and a hint of mustard-spiciness but by the end of the meal I found myself wishing they had more options to mix things up. The mac was cheesy and not an congealed mass like most cafeteria-style restaurants. The beans were surprisingly good as well, they were sweet but not sickeningly so. Not the Having moved from Kansas City, I've been looking for good no-frills BBQ and this place definitely fits the bill. It's not fancy and there's not a lot of sauce options but what they do, they do well. Definitely give this place a try.
