| - This will be long, but it could be worth reading, as there are many things to look for. OMG I can't believe I let myself be taken, after I had done months of preparation prior to buying my car. If I could do it again I would go for Toyota, or maybe a different Honda dealer. I was caught in a moment of vulnerability after having my car stolen, and had the salesman from Honda pick me up since I had no car. In hind site I should have got a ride, or rented a car for a few days, but I was stressed out over the theft and not thinking right. The cost of a rental car will now be paid several times over, not only in cash, but in regret over not having the features that I wanted in a new car. I delayed getting a new car for so long, and the whole time was so looking forward to the day I would finally have a car that I deserved and picked out, with the features that I was certain I would get. They knew they had a vulnerable customer, and I never should have let that show. I didn't even get tinted windows, or the full tank of gas I was promised, and I let them talk me into way overpaying for the extended warranty that I KNOW not to get, and a security system that is already included. I had bad credit and a bankruptcy due to a divorce cause primarily over his financial issues, and worked hard to get back on track, so that I had choices to make. I was pre-approved at Capital One, and somehow I misread what I was approved at as 6.2%, and was happy when the paperwork drawn up was 5.9%. I have since double checked cap one, and it was at 4.63%, which Honda West did submit my app too, and likely went with the highest of the THREE lenders that ran my credit, although I was already approved, and had told them that. When I agreed to run my credit, I believed it would be to try to get approved at a better rate through Honda directly, and they did not even run my credit. They told me my credit score was 617, and the salesman circled it on a paper because they have to disclose it, but they did not even run my credit, because none of the reports show that they did. My credit two weeks later is 626, and was 621 when I checked it shortly before going in. After waiting awhile the finance manager (really the bigger salesman) called me in after a wait that I suspect is to make you anxious to get out of there so that you will be more quick to agree to things, and sign without checking things carefully. While waiting I asked do you think I can get window tint thrown in, and he goes no we really can't add things anymore, this after weeks of them e-mailing me saying what will it take to sell you a car. Well they offered me some Gap insurance, extended warranty, and a security system, and said it is special pricing because the company I work for is part of a special plan, which I knew was bull, and I said no. That was at initally a $50 some per month interest. He then said what if I can get you the warranty and security for $36 or something like that, after running his caculator as I am sure is part of the tactic. He knew I was worried about security after just having my car stolen, and took advantage of that with the Security system. I ended up agreeing to that, and after a very stressful day just wanted to get out of there so signed away. When I went to drive away I asked the salesman if it had a full tank of gas as he had told me it would in the beginning, and he goes oh no I was in a hurry and forgot, let me run it will be 10 mins. I said okay, and he ran in and came back a minute later and said all the gas cards out being used, and can I come by another day for the gas. I was like really, but said okay.. I really didn't think they would go so far as to care about a tank of gas at a Honda dealer, but after everything else came to light I do believe it is part of the scam, and perhaps comes out of his commision. Well the next day I had time to destress and realize how disappointed I was with little things in the car, and that I had let them talk me into $36 higher payment than I wanted, I read the paperwork, and was shocked to see that the "security system" was written in as $599 of AFTERMARKET. When I was leaving the dealer gave me a chip for the salesman to put in the car for the extra secruity I had purchased, but my research now seems to indicate that the actualy security was already included in the base price, and what I really paid $599 for was mostly an LED Indictor (for appearances), deductible reibursement. and new car replacement which I could get cheaper, and probably won't use because that is only if the car isn't recovered. I feel as if the $599, and more with interest, was just stolen from me. Then I looked at the warranty, and saw that it alone was $1385 and only for 6 years (34 add''l) and 80,000 miles. I read onliine that others got 100,000 miles for $599, and again feel totally robbed. I have 60 days to cancel, and will be doing that so that I at least feel some sense of justice. Now after f
