Frankie's is easily one of the best tiki-themed watering holes I've ever hit up, and they make one solidly delicious mojito. Their drinks are $9 a pop, $25 if you opt to purchase one of the mugs.
I got the Bearded Clam in the slot machine tiki mug, and I was so freaking happy with it. It was just the right amount of sweetness and strong as hell. Laughed when I looked at the bottom and noticed the mug came from Tiki Farm in San Clemente.
It's a bit tight in there, so don't be surprised if you can't find a seat. Big groups took the majority of the tables and the bar stools were all taken. So we stood by one of the wooden tikis, carved to look like it was holding playing cards with red dice for eyes.
Other than the fact that it gets pretty hot in there from all the body heat, I love everything about Frankie's Tiki Room.
I highly recommend it if you're a big fan of the Polynesian craze of the early mid-twentieth century.
Or, you know, you just love rum-heavy cocktails and singing, "In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room. In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room!!" over and over while spinning around in circles 'til the decor starts singing along with you. I won't judge.
