| - The Good Press was the first juice bar in Yorkville to offer cold pressed juices and my absolute favourite thing - acai bowls.
The space is incredibly bright and airy, despite being below street level. It is entirely open, so you can watch the orders being prepared right in front of you. It always smells super clean and fresh from all the blending of ingredients.
The menu is written on the wall directly in front of you when you enter - there are so many choices I tend to get a bit overwhelmed! I want everything! Their tropical fruit smoothies are incredible on a hot summer day - refreshing and fruity, they make you feel like you are on holiday!
The acai bowl that I am always recommended by the staff is the Hippie Bowl. It is a classic combination of acai, berries, granola, almond butter and banana. The granola is not gluten-free so I always ask them to sub it out. They replace it with a delicious combination of coconut flakes, chia seeds, dried fruit, and goji berries - you don't miss the granola at all!
The most recent time I came in and ordered an acai bowl, I found that it was actually too heavy on the toppings and very light on the actual acai purée. This made the bowl very dry to eat - all that almond butter sticks to the roof of your mouth if there isn't something to cut through it!
I appreciate they try to give you your money's worth - especially because the physical bowls they use are much smaller than at other juice bars - but I found it too dense to eat.
Overall, The Good Press is still one of the best juice bars in Toronto. But I wish they had more seating indoors and slightly larger acai bowls to help make them more balanced.
