| - You know the saying, you know it's love when you can't stop thinking it, dreaming about it. Well apparently, for me, love comes in the form of a danish pastry. Because after visiting this spot, I legit can't get these pastries out of my head.
Before I came here, I was totally apathetic to danish pastries. It's never my first pick at Tim Horton's or other coffee shops, nor is it something I crave as a midnight snack in the dead of night. That all changed when I came to this spot. I visited around 2:00 PM on a weekday afternoon and was greeted right away. However, although it was a weekday, I noticed that there weren't many pastries left in selection trays so note - come early to get your pick of the good stuff.
I decided to order 2 cookies and 2 danishes (you know, as a backup plan, just in case I hated the danishes, at least I had 2 cookies to munch on!). I ordered the following in a box to take home: the double chocolate chip cookie, the pecan cookie, an apple danish, and a custard Danish (snegl med crème). The cookies ended up being so-so (more cakey than crispy). But wow, the danish pastries were out of this world. Literally, it blew my mind! Sweet but not too crispy, buttery and flaky, the perfect texture and absolutely, positively amazing. I couldn't believe how good they were and immediately wished I bought more.
It's a bit of a drive to get here for me (it's near the Oakville driving test centre), but I wouldn't mind the drive if it meant getting more of these. Pastry size is average. I also thought pricing for the cookies was a little high (over $2.00 for a cookie!). However, I'll definitely and certainly be back for more of their other goods.
For 2 cookies and 2 danishes, I paid $11.87. Definitely quality stuff.
