  • We went as part of a group, thinking that we were packing boxes, like they do at a food bank. We had NO idea that we would receive a hard sell about donations and shown pictures of starving children. I think that our 1.5 hours spent there would have been better spent with ALL of those hours making packaged food, instead of 60% of the time spent listening to spiels and asked for donations. I am sure that this is all for a good cause, but allow us to work and politely (and only ONCE - for a couple of minutes - not an HOUR) ask for monetary donations. Gift shop had a couple of neat items for sale. It would have also been nice to have had literature (instead of our precious time taken up with videos/slide show) that should the breakdown of how much money actually went to the actual cause.
