| - When we walked in the door for our first visit to Cartwright's, we were immediately greeted by the friendly hostess. Upon being seated, water and bread were placed on our table, and our server greeted us and asked for our drink order.
I ordered the triple medallions: elk, bison, and steak because it was my husband's second choice. I told him I'd share. :) My husband ordered the quail macaroni and cheese (smoked gouda). Everything was cooked perfectly, and the presentation was amazing. In addition, the music playing was everything we love. I teased my husband, asking if he gave them a play list.
The atmosphere is elegant and casual at the same time. I'm not sure how they accomplish that, but they do. Everything is clean. The interior decorating is superior, with various textures and wall hangings that enhance the vibe of the restaurant.
For our anniversary, they gave us a little gift: homemade truffles. (You have to eat them fast in Arizona, or they will melt. That was my excuse anyway.) They were delicious, and the box was adorable. But they certainly went above and beyond to make sure our night was special.
The ownership just changed, but I'd never been there before. The owners said they are not changing a lot because the previous owners knew what they were doing. It is obvious that is true. Go enjoy a meal here during the week when it isn't packed. Have some fresh locally sourced food with a glass of your favorite beverage. Trust me that you will not regret it.
While this restaurant is listed as three dollar signs, I must say that it isn't that much more money than Longhorn or another chain steakhouse. However, the food here cannot even be compared to that food. It melts in your mouth, with the perfect combination of flavors and textures for a culinary delight.
I found my new favorite restaurant! :)
