| - Let me tell you about authentic Salvadoran food: warm, gooey pupusas, fried yuca that crackles in your mouth, savory rice and beans, warm tortillas with your food, cold and perfect horchata to wash it all down, and perfect, oh, just perfect soups. The beef foot soup ("sopa de pata") is the best soup I have had in Phoenix, filled with all the bits and pieces they can throw in there (tendon, mondongo, bones...) and lots of veggies and roots and other greens, it makes me smile, my stomach growl, and I want more every week. The staff at Guanaquito is friendly and willing to explain what you do not know, and even though they may be a bit slow, they let you eat in peace. Yes, the parking sitation is a bit "iffy", but when are really good eats found in well-lit places? Gems like "El Guanaquito" are worth the visit!
