  • This joint is not trying to bring Grimaldi's, John's, Totonno's, or any of the other notable pizza restaurants in New York to Las Vegas. Instead, it channels those "street slice" pizzerias you first stop at because you're hungry when you walk by, and then later because you know it's there. You might not even know the name; it's just "That pizza place on Bleecker Street." The unmarked entrance on the third floor of the Cosmopolitan echoes the phenomenon perfectly. For many twenty-somethings, stopping for a slice after hitting the bars has also become a way of life, and this place brings that experience to Las Vegas. Of course, it does so at Vegas prices, which means you're paying an outrageous $5 for a slice of pizza. More problematic is a potential wait in excess of 15 minutes thanks to the raging popularity of this place. The pizza is actually decent for what it's trying to ape. It looked like a greasy mess when it was handed to me, but the crust is vaguely crispy without being crumbly, and the cheese actually adds some quality flavor instead of just adding weight and texture. I've had far worse pizza-by-the-slice in New York itself. Las Vegas has so many good eats that I can't really recommend making this a destination you go out of your way to check out. However, if you're passing through the Cosmopolitan or you're stumbling around and get the urge to show off your hipness, you can grab a slice and then write a 5-star review on Yelp calling this place "Las Vegas's Best Kept Secret" too.
